Restoration of broken or missing teeth
- Tooth Colored Fillings
Minor defects, such as tiny fissures and incipient decay can be fixed with fillings.
A unique shape and size of composites, which are tooth colored fillings, imitate a tooth’s physical qualities. Such natural look and properties are possible as composites consist of a space age resin, strengthened with glass quartz molecules.
In order to achieve the best effects, at Dentihealth only the most advanced components for dental crowns, fillings and other treatment are used.
Before a composite filling is placed, the diseased (pathological) or vitiated part of the tooth needs to be removed. After that, the missing fragment of the tooth is carefully sculpted with the composite filling and is adhered into place.
The durability of composite fillings should guarantee a years-long functioning, comfort and natural look.
Composite fillings, or bondings, are an alternative for amalgam (silver) fillings. The cavity within a tooth is removed and the tooth is etched and prepared for the placement of a tooth colored filling. The filling is polished down in-line with the patients bite and no one is able to tell that it is not a natural tooth.
Sometimes a tooth is only slightly damaged. A filling may be too large for the tooth to support, but a full coverage crown can be too aggressive. This in between treatment is similar to a porcelian filling that gets cemented in place.
Onlays are very similar to inlays. The technical differance is that an onlay replaces more of the tooth anatomy than an inlay does.
Veneers are thin porcelain shells used to cover cracked, chipped, crooked or discolored teeth. They are also strong enough to correct some gaps between teeth. In order to strengthen (to solidify) teeth, dental crowns are placed. Dental caps enhance teeth’s look and function. Apart from that, they can be utilized as fixing (component, element) in case of fissures (clefts, crevices) and other blemishes (defects) that can occur on teeth.
Although dental crowns’ role is similar to that of porcelain veneers, both types of caps have divergent (different) functions. The first swaddles (cups) the whole tooth, while the latter covers only its front. This makes dental crowns useful not only in enhancing the esthetics of teeth but their strength as well.
The natural look and comfort of dental caps work to many patients’ satisfaction.
Porcelain Dental Crowns (Caps)
Even though numerous alternatives for materials used in dental caps exist, at Dentihealth we prioritize (prefer to use) porcelain components due to their quality and esthetics. With accurate treatment planning in some situations, porcelain crowns have displayed even higher durability than metal caps.
With porcelain crowns applied (placed), the gums do not get (become) discolored as it may happen in the case of metal caps. Such quality of metal free dental caps guarantees a beautiful and natural smile of our patients.
Dental crowns replacement.
The advancement of porcelain dental caps, their premium look and placement process motivate numerous patients to have the metal dental crowns replaced. This relatively simple operation brings immediate change (betterment, upturn) to the patient’s smile.
The fear of pain and following complications cause many patients to become dentophobic. Dental caps application (placement) is a relatively uncomplicated procedure.
1. In the process of creating dental crowns, overall examination is the initial procedure. It is followed by a thorough checkup of teeth, gums and bone structures. The evaluation is aimed at detecting (finding) any symptoms that stress, decay or instability may give. With the use of x- rays and other diagnostic tools that carefully examine the condition of the patient’s mouth, any health or dental dysfunctions might by dealt with (treated, attended to) immediately.
2. Comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning (including 2-D and 3-D models) are the key and critical steps in the process of placing crowns on teeth and the long-term effect.
3. With the treatment plan ready, in order to have the dental crown accommodated, the removal of the fragment of the original tooth structure will precondition the teeth for the upcoming procedures. While the final crown is being worked on, a temporary replica (cover-up) will be placed; it should protect the tooth and enhance the mouth’s look for the time being.
4. The final restoration of the dental crown is relatively uncomplicated and involves trying it for fit and color, adjustment to the tooth and polishing.
- Fixed Bridges
When a tooth inbetween is not able to saved it will need to be extracted. Now there is a space between two teeth. In order to fill in the space the tooth in front and the tooth behind will need to prepared to accept crowns on each. the two crowns will be sottered together by a third “floating” tooth. This is what we call a three unit bridge. (because it involves the spacing of three teeth)
